Get your cart ready for event day

Prepare your staff devices, event QR, order queue, connection, and optional printer before guests arrive.

  1. Check access on the devices you will bring

Confirm that your plan includes the ordering and staff tools you need. Invite your team, assign them to the event, and have everyone sign in before leaving. The staff app is built for iOS and Android; use the native app build supplied for your business. The web admin queue runs in a browser. Native printer connections are not available through the browser alone.

  2. Open the event together

Check the address, service window, assigned team, and prep checklist. Agree who takes counter orders, who makes drinks, and who marks them ready. Keep team messages with the event so a change of parking or arrival time reaches the right people.

  3. Test the event QR, not just your storefront link

Confirm the event menu and ordering settings, then scan its QR on a guest phone. A general storefront link can be browse-only. Check that the QR opens the correct event and available drinks. For a prepaid event, confirm the included-drink setup; for paid orders, check the connected payment provider and test its payment flow using test mode where available. Confirm a test order reaches the queue and remove it before service.

  4. Plan for the connection at the venue

Guest QR orders, online payments, and live team updates require internet. Test venue Wi-Fi where the cart will stand, keep a charged hotspot available, and bring chargers. Some orders created in the staff app and queued status changes can retry when the connection returns. This does not provide offline card authorization, offline guest ordering, or live messaging without a connection. Check pending sync items before closing the app or signing out.

  5. Treat a printer as an optional, tested extra

You can use the on-screen queue without a printer. The native staff app has experimental BLE and network ESC/POS printer connections. No printer model is currently marked hardware-verified in our compatibility list. A generic “Bluetooth” or “iOS compatible” listing is not proof of compatibility; Bluetooth Classic/SPP is not implemented. Test your exact printer, paper size, and connection with MorningStorm before relying on it. Network printing needs a reachable printer on the local network.

  6. Run one handoff before the first guest

Take an order, check its number and modifiers in the queue, mark it in progress, then ready. Confirm the team sees the change. Review any unsynced orders, the latest checklist, battery levels, and the fallback plan with the team. Keep the queue available on a second signed-in device if practical.
